Are you generally a risk taker?

  • Yes, I regularly make bold decisions
  • No, I tend to avoid risk-based scenarios

Constantly changing circumstances, new feelings, unfamiliar people around, uncertainty is a fertile ground for acting, because these give people fear of new and desire to get more. In this case, there is often a choice: to risk and get the desired or not to risk and stay with what you have. The nature of risk is based on the struggle against fears and the ability to take the first step. Having a stomach for adventure is the individual’s quality associated with such traits as independence, inclination to dominate, impulsiveness, and desire to succeed. This is the ability of a person to take non-standard risky decisions, not to be afraid of losing the available material or spiritual benefits for the sake of something bigger. The business is partly reminiscent of gambling, so the greatest success is achieved by those who can simultaneously soberly calculate or intuitively determine the degree of risk and, despite the likelihood of failure, go for a justified risk.

So, do you have the appetite for risk?

How do you treat new hires?
  • I make them feel welcome and go out of my way to help whenever possible
  • Impartially, I don’t treat them any differently than I would the rest of my colleagues
  • I distance myself and avoid communication
  • As a potential threat to my position, I’d try to sabotage them
  • I boss them around and/or try to give them some of my workload
