People like to discuss in a circle of friends and family not only their personal life but also their work and everything connected with it. It can be relationships with colleagues and bosses, wages and work conditions and just overall atmosphere. Speaking about their work or specifically about the salary, some tend to exaggerate to make the impression of a successful person. In contrary, many tend to understate facts to avoid envy.
