Are you a good public speaker?

September 27, 2017
  • Yes, it comes naturally
  • Not sure, but I do feel more confident when I’m well prepared and the topic is a familiar one
  • No, public speaking horrifies me

Emotional, imaginative, clear and confident speech is one of the most powerful ways to influence people’s minds. Even in ancient times, the wise men said that one who mastered a word has the minds and hearts of people.

Undoubtedly, every one of us at least once in a life heard a person whose speech is close to the ideal. People want to regularly listen to such speakers, no matter what they say. Obviously, in the modern world, it is impossible to achieve significant success in a career without the ability to express own thoughts to the audience. Oral art is one of the most valuable skills that helps a person to make their point of view short, beautiful and without any problems.

Some people can be called speakers by nature: give them the subject of conversation, and you could for hours listen to how they build and express their thoughts. Alternatively, there are people who seem to be distinguished by the clarity of thoughts and the ability to talk to a conversation partner or in writing. However, when such people come out to speak before the audience, their throat suddenly dries up, thoroughly thought out words get out of the mind, leaving a single thought: “Panic!” Such people are often lost when communicating with others and don’t always know how to convey their thoughts and ideas to the interlocutor accurately.

So, can you call yourself a good speaker?
