• I support it because the Belarusian authorities violate the rights and freedoms of their citizens
  • 50/50, it's rather an ideological decision, I doubt its effectiveness
  • I don't support it

US President Donald Trump has decided to extend the already existing sanctions against the Belarusian authorities, which George Bush Jr. introduced in 2006. This position of the American president was based, in particular, on the fact that the policy pursued by some representatives of the Belarusian authorities contributes to undermining democratic institutions and values in that country. Thus, Washington noted that Belarus continues to violate fundamental human rights, engaged in systematic repressions and implements corruption, which, in turn, contributes to the growing threat to national security and foreign policy of the United States of America. Therefore, US President Donald Trump said he considers it necessary to extend the extraordinary situation imposed by the Presidential Decree on Belarus. New sanctions foresee blocking accounts of Belarusian politicians in US banks, banning them from entering the United States, and also forbidding American companies to cooperate with them.

So, how do you feel about the US decision to extend sanctions against Belarus?
