Does your child help in the kitchen?
- Yes, most of the time
- Sometimes
- Only when I ask
- Never
Parents are accustomed to educating the kids from the childhood to help them in their home affairs: to wipe dust in their room, to wash their dishes, to put clothes neatly in the closet, and so on. When a child wants to help a mother in cooking or cleaning up the kitchen – do not rush with refusal, justifying this by saying that you can handle the task faster or think that the child would have loads of time to work up. They say that a child, watching how the parents do a particular thing, also seeks to learn, because children are full of curiosity and interest. It so happened that the boys want to help their father, taking over from fathers certain “male” skills. The girls try to be with mothers, who will share experiences and teach them how to cook or sew. There are children who want to help their parents in the kitchen, bake a cake or make a salad. There are those who are not interested in what happens in the kitchen, preferring other activity.
And how is the situation in your family? Does your child help you in the kitchen?
- None
